"Christie is the Social Worker for Advanced Healthcare and helps Patients in their home (or where they call home) secure the services they need. She always goes above and beyond for not only her current Patients but past Patients as well. She has collected clothes, food and other necessities to deliver to them. She also has put together a team of workers to repair a floor in one of her Patients homes. She delivers food baskets at the Holidays and makes sure everyone has what they need. She becomes their Family when there is none.
While these are all amazing accomplishments, her most recent act tops the list. One of Christie's Patients lived at home and her Husband was in the Nursing Home on Hospice. She was unable to drive and the one thing the Patient wanted to do was see him before he passed. After an exhausting attempt to secure funds for transportation and multiple calls she was finally able to get a Volunteer through Senior Services of Central Illinois to drive the Patient to see her Husband. I should also mention this happened on a weekend which makes it even more amazing.
This is just one of the many, many examples I could give of her selflessness. She is the epitome of what a Social Worker should be and quite possibly the best one I have ever worked with. She gives 110 percent every day to her Patients and their Families.
