At CILCSA, we’re proud to celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to create WOW moments. Those extraordinary acts of service make our community shine. Our latest WOW Award recipient, Candy Loyd of Chick-fil-A in Springfield, Illinois, exemplifies what it means to serve with heart, dedication, and joy.
Candy’s nominator stated that “Candy has shown what true customer service looks
like—not simply in what she does, but in the spirit with which she does it. From the
beginning, Candy’s love for people and her willingness to go the extra mile have set her
apart. Though new to Springfield herself, she has quickly become known among
customers and coworkers alike as someone who embodies kindness, care, and
commitment to excellence. Her supervisors recognized these qualities early and
promoted her to oversee catering services, a role in which she has already gone above
and beyond.
One shining example of Candy’s dedication came when she was tasked with delivering
catering to an event at Springfield Clinic. Unfortunately, she wasn’t given the correct
address. Many would have turned back or left the order at the first wrong location. Not
Candy. She drove around town to multiple clinics until she finally found the right one,
determined that the customers she was serving would not be disappointed. That
persistence, paired with her cheerful attitude, turned what could have been a stressful
mishap into a “WOW” moment for her customers.
Her commitment doesn’t stop with customers—it extends to her colleagues as well.
When one coworker’s car broke down and she risked missing her early morning shift,
Candy didn’t hesitate. She set her alarm for 4:30 a.m. and picked her teammate up,
ensuring she could get to work on time. For Candy, being part of a team means lifting
others up, even when it requires personal sacrifice. She embodies the heart of the
“WOW” Award—lifting spirits, inspiring kindness, and making Springfield a better place
one encounter at a time.”
Candy received numerous nominations in this quarter’s submissions.
Congratulations Candy!!! Keep being a shining example of WOW Service!
